My Bio

For over 25 years, I have been working as a creative director, conceptioner and texter in a advertisment agencies. Then, I started to rediscover my love for developing artwork, and slowly built up a side business until going "full freelance" in 2017.

So I started out as a hobbyist but have always done semi-professional stuff in one way or the other. During the years, I have done art and text for several publishers and systems.

In the Nineties I did computer game graphics for Amiga games by Silver Style Entertainment (who did Risen II and Simon the Sorcerer, among other things).

I also did several pix for the German releases of Feder & Schwert, the German publisher of White Wolf's "Vampire: The Masquerade" (German art and extra content of "Berlin bei Nacht" and extra art for the "Brujah Clanbook" and "Milwaukee Bei Nacht").

Oh, and I did the full artwork for the Berlin BloodBowl League Rules Pamphlet. That was great fun.

In 2006 I started doing freelance stuff "in earnest", and have since contributed art and writing to

– Shadowrun RPG by Catalyst Games

– Shadowrun RPG (German) by Pegasus Spiele

– Aborea RPG by rising systems

– D&D RPG (in this case via InMediaRes)

– Battlelords of the Twenty-Third Century RPG by SSDC

– Battlelords of the Twenty-Third Century Online Game by Athena Virtual Productions

– Traveller RPG (German) by 13Mann

– Contact: Code Omega RPG by Robert Hamberger (biometal79)

– Transfer for the Universal Roleplaying Game URPG

etc.

Apart from doing illustrations, I also write for some RPG systems, my biggest contribution being the development of the "modern" (post-2060) Berlin setting for Shadowrun both in published books (Berlin sourcebook, Berlin 2080 sourcebook, Datapuls: Berlin PDF, all by Pegasus) and on my quite extensive website www.shadowrunberlin.de

Thankfully, I am supported by several fans over at Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/aasartconcept), my biggest dream being to be able to live off Patreon and provide the RPG community with free content both artwork- and content-wise. (One is allowed to dream, neh? ;)).

Since the question pops up every now and then: YES, I ABSOLUTELY DO COMMISSION ARTWORK. Just send me an e-mail (see www.aasartconcept.com) or contact me through social media, i.e. FB (please do not contact me via DeviantArt, as I am apparently too dumb to see new notifications there). I'm sure we can work something out that suits your request as well as your budget.

So this is it. After long years of doing artwork for RPGs as a pastime and only whenever my daylight job would allow it, I've gone freelance in full. Pray for my poor soul and visit me at http://www.aasartconcept.com.

Alles gute zum Geburtstag!
Happy birthday, Chummer!
Alles Gute, viel Gesundheit, Inspiration und Muße für Deine Kunst.
And never strike a deal with a dragon, okay? ;)

(Das mit dem Wacoman in Deiner ID fand ich eigentlich verständlich, aber vielleicht liegt das auch daran, daß ich öfters Umgang mit Künstlern und selber ein kleines habe (das läuft auch fein mit Linux).)
Happy birthday!
Interesting stuff, but you need to find a better balance. The photo-manipulated elements stick out way too much against the painted parts which look too flat by comparison. The composition can't really come together like that.
You hit the nail on the head (as we are saying in Germany). I am struggling with a better balance and for the most part would just LOVE to have the time to work WAY longer on some, if not all pics. (Not to mention that I am desperatly looking for ways to improve my meager skills through some kind of course, but they are either WAY too novice OR way too advanced for me, or simply "off-topic"...).

Great advice, though!
Awesome gallery! I'm watching You, please watch my profile if You like my art :dalove:
